RELAX and UNWIND at ‘La Dernière Maison’; the B&B in a village, on the banks of the CANAL du MIDI surrounded by vineyards.
The traditional Languedoc village of Argens-Minervois, dominated by its Cathar castle, is in Catalan country some 16 miles (26kms) north-west of Narbonne, 24 miles (38kms) east of Carcassonne (airport) and 54 miles (87kms) north of Perpignan. (airport).
Additionally, airports at Beziers and Montpellier, both within easy driving distance, serve the UK and elsewhere.
The detached house, adjacent to the CANAL du MIDI, is on a quiet road with no-through traffic. It is noticeable for its two palm trees and pool, and offers a temporary free mooring for any vessel transiting the canal. The village has two restaurants, a marina, a snack bar, a bar/pub, a general store and two wine domains which encourage wine-tasting.
In nearby Lézignan-Corbières (3 miles or 5kms) with access to the Autoroute and an Air-Strip, are two major supermarkets….Intermarché and Carrefour. Lézignan offers all the facilities associated with any medium sized town in France……market day is Wednesday and is well worth a visit. The closest Mediterranean beach is at Narbonne Plage (45mins).
Tuesday is market-day in nearby Olonzac with ample facilities from a super-market, post-office, pharmacy, medical services and hairdresser, to bars and restaurants.
Kindly note: The B&B at ‘La Dernière Maison’ is exclusively for the comfort and enjoyment of one couple or a single only. However, a folding cot is available for infants.
